Day 1(12 May)- Arrive in Paris. Check into your hotel. That evening you will be hosted at a welcome dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 (13 May)– We will drive from Paris to Normandy making a stop for lunch. That afternoon you will arrive at Pegasus Bridge and begin exploring the British landing beaches including the British cemetery at Ranville, the Hillman Site, and sites on Sword Beach before checking into your hotel.
Day 3 (14 May)– You will arrive at Utah Beach and tour it's museum where you will see one of the last few B26 Marauders in existence. You will next visit St Mere Eglise, St Marie Du Mont, La Fier Bridge, “Dead Man’s Corner” and a German War Cemetery.
Day 4 (15 May)– You will begin the day at Pointe Du Hoc, a strategic artillery position captured by the 2nd Rangers who scaled its sheer cliffs under enemy fire. From here we will proceed to Omaha Beach where the 1st and 29th Infantry Divisions landed into the teeth of the German defenses. After a thorough exploration of the length of Omaha Beach we will end the day at the American Cemetery at Colleville, the final resting place of 9,387 Americans where we will conduct a brief ceremony of remembrance.
Day 5 (16 May)- We will depart our hotel and stop at the German Longues sur Mer Artillery Battery and Arromanches on Gold Beach where you will see the remains of the artificial “Mulberry” harbors. We will then stop and tour a distillery of Normandy’s famous apple brandy, Calvados. We will spend the night in Rouen, the capital of Normandy with its ancient and famous three towered cathedral.
Day 6 (17 May)– We will begin the day visiting Giverny, the country home and studio of Claude Monet, the renowned Impressionist artist. Our next stop is the Chateau de La Roche-Guyon, the site of Field Marshal Rommel’s headquarters during the Normandy invasion. We will then proceed to Paris via the city of La Mantes-Jolies where General Patton’s Third Army first crossed the river Seine. After arriving at your Paris hotel you will have a night on your own.
Day 7 (18 May) We will begin with a driving tour of Paris, including stops at the Eiffel Tower and the National French Army Museum, the Hotel Des Invalides, site of Napoleon’s tomb. From there we will return you to your hotel or you can continue exploring Paris on your own.
Day 8 (19 May) The morning takes you to the Louvre Museum which you can explore at your leisure. The remainder of the day you are free to explore Paris. That evening you will have a final farewell dinner.
Day 9 (20 May) Transfer to Airport and return home.
