This nine-day, eight-night tour takes you to the major sites associated with D-Day. Over three days you will visit sites of the fierce airborne battles at Pegasus Bridge, St Mere Eglise, St Marie Du Mont, La Fiere Bridge and “Dead Man’s Corner.” You will visit all five landing beaches: Sword, Juno, Gold, Utah, and Omaha and the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc scaled and captured by the 2nd Rangers. Your visit to Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery will take place on 15 May, the anniversary of the Battle of New Market. Other sites will include the German artillery batteries at Longues-sur-Mer, the “Mulberry Harbors” and the British Normandy Memorial.
Your return to Paris will include the Monet Museum at Giverny and a night in Rouen, the capital of Normandy and site of the trial and execution of Jean of Arc. Returning to Paris you will enjoy a coach tour of the “City of Lights” with stops at the Eiffel Tower, the French Army Museum and Napoleon’s tomb at the Hotel des Invalides, and the world-famous Louvre Museum of art. You will have ample time to explore the city on your own before a farewell dinner on your final night before returning home.
